The Coast Cities Railway was the final manifestation of trolley service between Long Branch and Sea Girt, New Jersey. The electric trolley era in these coast cities began in 1888 and ended in 1931. The story is told in Joseph Eid’s book Trolleys in the Coast Cities (self-published in 1979).
